Saudi men over 30 playing Battle Royale are the typical mobile gamer: survey

A survey of 500 Saudi mobile gamers has revealed that 84 percent of adults in Saudi Arabia play mobile games, with just over half — 55 percent — men.

According to the figures, about half of all gamers — 52 percent — are adults aged between 30 and 49. The same amount play at least two or three times a day.

Battle Royale is the most popular genre, followed by action/adventure, and then puzzle/trivia/word games, the survey by mobile video advertising from Adcolony found.

About four in 10, 39 percent of these respondents, say they play mobile games for more than 10 hours per week, and 51 percent say they play mobile games at least 2-3 times each day.

Four in 10, 41 percent of Saudis prefer Battle Royale games, followed by Action/Adventure with 39 percent, and Puzzle/Trivia/Word games with 38 percent. Some 18 percent of respondents have two games on their phones, while 26 percent have three games.

AdColony worked with data source platform Nielsen to examine users’ mobile gaming behaviors, preferences, and sentiments to understand who the KSA mobile gamers are and how they spend their time.

The survey was distributed online to a nationally representative sample of mobile gamer audiences in Saudi Arabia. The survey received 500 responses over a fourteen-day period in Q3 of 2021, and it was conducted on both desktop and mobile devices.
