Demand for Chinese goods is surging as the global economy emerges from the pandemic, increasing use of China’s electricity-hungry factories. But since electricity prices are regulated in China, some power companies are losing money and hesitant to boost production. At the same time, China is trying to meet its ambitious climate goals.
